Description
Although marked by a rigorous Octarian upbringing, she's dorky and a huge sloth. The more eccentric the music she listens to is, the happier she'll be. Itvara's very interested in anything offbeat, though she doesn't stick out like a sore thumb by herself.
Wanderlust is a familiar feeling for her - she can run off for a day somewhere and then come back to her usual comfort. She's a sweet tooth, she enjoys pet slugs, and staying with her laptop in bed. Despite her introversion, she'll find herself smiling at strangers on the street.
She has worked all of her life with technology, knowing many of its ins and outs. She knows the threats of constant surveillance well, yet will take advantage of them. Then again, it's usually for the greater good
Her first reaction to someone new would be suspicion, however, she’s got an acute sense of intuition to correct it. It takes a lot of convincing to get her to do something. Though she’s got a great sense of duty when doing something important, and she hates it when all the pieces don’t fall together in place. She also has a strong dislike for the military and political affairs of the nations she finds herself in between.
Story
Early years
Itvara hatched in the Octarian Valley, an offspring of two members of the Dewaele family line, known for its lineage of music producers. She was assigned an unique ID of DWL-17, and was placed into the government’s early vocational finding programme. At 5, she was assigned a technical vocation, unexpected for her lineage, and was sent to a military academy. There, she would be trained to work with military systems, become a computer guru and learn basic battlefield techniques.
At 14, finally able to freely shapeshift, she was enlisted in the army. Her exceptional behaviour and performance offered her a prestigious and comfortable role in the Octarian Intelligence. Her training would continue in the army and she would be assigned an outpost to guard and operate in the D North Regiment. She would live in the communications tower for most of the day, checking surveillance systems, garnering inkling intelligence and working on the military network’s security and integrity. Due to the nature of the work, she had the chance to learn Inklish, something many don’t get.
At this outpost, she was under Regina. Isolated from the rest of the domes, Itvara was left to socialise with the only other outpost member: Eiso. Allowed to bypass the Octarian Firewall, she learns about the surface’s culture and destinations, which she daydreams of visiting. The outpost has been tipped about a “backdoor” towards the surface, and a black market associated with it. Using it as an opportunity to strengthen the rogue Octarian Liberation group, under Regina’s careful command, the outpost became part of the trade, and Itvara was forced to join out of circumstance. She continued aiding the Sepia Market’s operations also for her own profit, as she would be able to request items and food from the surface.
2015 M.E.
The Valley entered a state of emergency after the New Squidbeak Splatoon's invasion. Refusing to participate in it, she escaped the Valley with Dana. She lived for a while at Dana's apartment, assisting her and tracking her regiment's missing members. Together with Regina and Eiso, she set the Octarian Liberation's plans of migration in motion.
