Description

A daredevil, a bit scrappy, and always seeking something exciting to do. She believes that every underdog deserves a chance, and always offers a helping hand with no expectations in return.

She's the pick-me-up for everyone. She knows how to make anyone smile, and her sense of humour can range from goofy to sharply sarcastic. Just the curiosity of seeing a reaction from others makes her more bold in her actions, sometimes making her maybe a bit too rude with her jokes. She will overblow the facts, and isn't against lying if it makes the others pay more attention.

Training constantly from an early age, her battling brought her amongst the top ranking battlers, despite her chaotic strategy and lack of seriousness on the battlefield. She’s thought to be uncannily lucky, having such a low rate of losses. She believes herself an altruist, wanting to aid the less fortunate with her lucky charm. Though her help often leads to loopholes and cheating, because luck for her can also come prefabricated.

Story

Early years

Pepper is the youngest sibling, she hatched in Inkopolis and has lived there since. She is 4 years younger than her brother Rue. Her mother had often let her roam freely around the playground, where she would approach and play with every kid without any fault. In middle school, she was part of the school’s basketball team.

Throughout her childhood, she aspired to become a professional battler. Although it was farther than other high schools, Pepper enrolled in one that had a standout inksports extracurricular. There, she found Olive, who in reverse enrolled there just for being closest to his house. The two first met at the initial team selection, where everyone had to pick their partners for a practice battle. Pepper was a bit scatter-brained and forgot to discuss it with anyone beforehand, though she quickly discovered Olive was available from his sniffles. She befriended him, and still talks to him to this date. She also had brief encounters with Donna, who was in Olive’s year.

Olive graduated while Pepper was in her penultimate year. She began freelancing for other teams, starting her career early.

2015-2016 M.E.

After graduating, she started freelancing full-time for inksports teams and travelling around the Calamari region for competitions. While Olive busied himself with University, Pepper also picked up skateboarding, and met Donna again at a skatepark. The two began conversing, under the pretence of Pepper learning new tricks from her. Donna proposed joining her graffiti crew, and Pepper accepted. The two would go around Inkopolis after sunset and enjoy sticker bombing and tagging while rolling on their skateboards.

2016-2017 M.E.

To keep her win ratio at a record high, and client teams happy, Pepper learned from other battlers ways to tamper the respawn devices. She was often splatted by her recklessness, so she speeded up her respawn time by increasing the device's pressure. It was a negligible change for her teammates, so nobody was any wiser. Though her health began to degrade, as the tampered devices added more strain on her body.
